2008 Media Kit

The Green Meeting Guide is an educational tool on how to plan more sustainable meetings and includes a host of tips and short articles on everything from how to offset the energy consumption of an event to choosing a green caterer (or working with your existing caterer to incorporate more 'sustainable' elements). The Green Meeting Guide takes a broad approach to sustainability, taking into consideration local ownership, social enterprise and ecological impact.

Distribution

The Green Meeting Guide is distributed through Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine (M&IT), a Rogers Canada publication. M&IT boasts Canada's LARGEST and most QUALIFIED distribution, meaning that advertisers will be receiving maximum exposure to 11,000 corporate, association, government and third party meeting planners.

The Green Meeting Guide will run in the May/June 2008 issue to M&IT's total circulation. This is a great opportunity for advertisers to reach M&IT's influential buyers and be positioned as sustainable providers for the meeting industry.

M&IT is still the only publication in Canada that covers all Meeting, Convention and Incentive Travel (MCIT) demographics: Corporate, Association, Government, and Independent Meeting/Event Planning organizations.

Why a Green Meeting Guide?

The directory is an educational tool on how to plan more sustainable meetings and includes a host of tips and short articles on everything from how to offset the energy consumption of an event to choosing a green caterer (or working with your existing caterer to incorporate more "sustainable" elements). The Green Meeting Guide takes a broad approach to sustainability and takes into consideration local ownership, social enterprise and ecological impact. Leading suppliers of green products will welcome the Guide as a vehicle to capture a growing segment of the planning community that is seeking more sustainable options for their events.

How is the Green Meeting Guide different from other resources?

Many groups provide tips, advice, and criteria for organizing a green event or conference. However, the most widely available guides have severe limitations:

  • Limited scope – focus is usually on narrow set of services
  • No city and region specificity
  • Often do not present a detailed product/resource directory listings or company listings
  • Not geared towards event planning professionals
  • Lack an online component.

When is the official release of the Green Meeting Guide?

The release date is June 2008.

Who is producing the Green Meeting Guide?

The Green Meeting Guide is a project of the The Innovolve Group, a sustainability consultancy based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

What is the cost of the Green Meeting Guide?

The Green Meeting Guide will be distributed to M&IT and select industry association members free of charge, however, copies of the Guide can also be purchased for $10.00 CDN plus GST & postage.
